Frederick A. Dumas

U.S. Veteran

Frederick A. Dumas 1935 - 2013 Frederick Dumas, born and raised in Crookston, MN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the age of 77, near his home in Bella Vista, CA.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; sister Arla; sons, Lewis (spouse Karen), Mike and Darren (spouse Jennifer); his two grandsons, Austin and Ryan, they were the light of his life. He is now in heaven with his father Frank, mother Marie, sister Jan and all of his other deceased family and friends.

He lived a full and eventful life. Among all the things he did, he served in the Navy in Guam, raced motorcycles in places like the Salt Flats of Utah, opened a motorcycle repair shop in Dublin, CA, and after moving to Shasta County in 1976 he and his wife opened The Bargain Den on N. Market St. in Redding, CA. He also was a truck driver for 25 years. Besides always working to provide for his family, he constantly involved himself inside businesses and projects. Taking care of his family was always his first priority. He lived a life that blessed all that knew him. His favorite moments were having his whole family together. Thanksgiving and Christmas were very special to him as the whole family sat for dinner. His hobbies included making winning pine derby cars with his two eldest sons, restoring tractors with his good friend Joe, watching Westerns, playing bingo regularly with his wife Sharon and son Mike, camping at Hat Creek, and loving his pugs and boxers.

He was a generous and loving man who would give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed as we wait to be with him again in Heaven.

A memorial service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.

Arrangements handled through Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel, Palo Cedro.
