Pentti J. Maki

U.S. Veteran

Pentti was born in Finland. He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. In 1939 he worked delivering papers in his town during the Russian invasion of Finland. After the war he served in the Finnish Army. In 1949 he moved to Central Valley, California and started a radio repair shop. He met his wife Taimi in San Francisco and they were married in 1952.

During the Korean War, he served in the Air Force repairing aircraft electronics. In 1963, he built Maki's Furniture store. He was very active in the community and faithfully served in his church and the local Gideon Camp. Pentti is survived by his wife Taimi, 3 sons and their wives, Eric and Diana, Carl and Gale, Mark and Cynthia; as well as 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. They loved to travel and were able to visit many countries of the world. In 1988 Pentti suffered a major stroke. Pentti was 85 years old when he went home to Glory. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at the Northern California Veterans Chapel , located at the cemetery , July 9, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.

His love for God, value for life, unconditional giving, compassion for all, and jolly laugh will be missed by all. We love you Papa and are joyously awaiting meeting again on heaven's shore with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
